The dates for next transmediale are fixed now. The festival will take place from February 4 to February 8 in the House of World Cultures in Berlin.
transmediale.05 explores the BASICS of artistic practice with digital technologies. The festival investigates the aesthetical and ethical foundations of a frantic and hyper-potential culture, and presents models of an artistic practice whose ethics derive not from past value systems, but from an appropriation of an extreme and contradictory, contemporary culture.
The studytrip is organized by Susanna Hertrich and Einar Wiig as an offer (mainly) for students from the section of visual communication who are interested in digital cultures and media design/art. Places are limited to 10 students.
It is planned to visit transmediale media art festival, the conference and the relating transmediale club events. transmediale festival shows an international selection of projects and concepts from an art and design context reflecting on contemporary topics raised by future technologies. transmediale comprises an exhibition, a conference and other activities in the city of Berlin. Alongside transmediale festival, the transmediale club events are taking place each night, showing live performances of contemporary electronic music and the latest of VJ-culture.
